גסטרואנטריטיס זיהומית (Infectious Gastroenteritis)

גורמים מזהמים שונים פוגעים במערכת העיכול לכל אורכה. ניתן לחלק את הזיהומים של מערכת העיכול על פי מקום הפגיעה הנפוץ (וושט, קיבה, מעי וכדומה), או על פי סוג המחולל הגורם למחלה.

מחלות זיהומיות של דרכי העיכול יכולות להתבטא בסימפטומים אופייניים: בחילות והקאות, שלשולים וכדומה, וגם להופיע עם הסימן המרכזי המלווה את רוב המחלות הזיהומיות – חום. ותלונות לפי האיבר הנפגע (הפרעה וכאב בבליעה – ושט, כאב בטן – קיבה, שילשול מעי, טנסמוס – רקטום).

יש להבדיל את המחלות הזיהומיות ממחלות דלקתיות אימוניות (דלקת מעי דלקתית) לבין כאב בטן, שילשול ועצירות על רקע מחלות תפקודיות (מעי רגיש).

הדרך המקובלת לאבחן בין שלושת המצבים הדומים מבחינה קלינית היא על ידי: תשאול, בדיקות מעבדה ובדיקות צואה להסתכלות ישירה, לתרבית ולבדיקות מולקולריות מתקדמות.
